How to Apply
Somali International University conducts admissions annually during July-August. We welcome both fresh entrants and transfer students from accredited institutions.
Admission Overview
Admissions are open for a limited time and deadlines for each intake are published through electronic and print media. Once the deadline is reached, applications are forwarded to the next intake.
Admission to Somali International University is based on the applicant's personal and educational records/achievements. All available information is meticulously considered, including high school records, evidence of academic maturity, personal character, and general contributions to school and community.

Admission is a Privilege
The University reserves the final decision on matters of entrance, retention and withdrawal with the final approval of the DVC for Academic Affairs and the Vice Chancellor. The admissions committee has the right to refuse or approve admission of any student.

Important Notes
• All photographs must be recent (taken within the past 5 months) and passport-size
• Documents must be certified copies of original certificates
• Application forms must be filled out clearly and completely
Transfer Students
Students from other accredited institutions can transfer to SIU and continue their academic journey
Academic Standing
Student must be in good regular standing from accredited colleges and universities
Credit Transfer
Credits accepted only if they meet program requirements with minimum grade of 60+
Faculty Consultation
Students must seek advice from the Dean of concerned Department or Faculty
• Granting of credit transfers is at the discretion of VP for Academic Affairs and Registrar
• Official transcripts must be obtained within 30 days if not available at admission
• Credits must conform to similar courses and required credit hours
• Course waivers do not reduce overall total credit hours required
Grade Requirement
A minimum grade of 60+ must be achieved for transfer of credit to be considered.
